Wintery Wonderland

Its getting to be that snuggly time of year. Heaters coming out of the cupboards, hot water bottles tucked between blankets, warm bedsocks and flannelette sheets, self-saucing puddings and cocoa, woolly scarves, furry jackets and leather gloves and thick stockings. Its all about comfort, keeping cosy, sharing body heat with loved or lusted ones, huddling away from the cold and the wet and increased dark. Already I want to tramp through damp forests between the fungi and the moss, travel on train trips down south with a hot chocolate and book, watching the rain from the library window whilst gathering books, make barley soups and frock up in layers of velvet, big boots and thick socks...
