ZOOO!!!!! that site is the worst ad for veganism EVER - and fulfills my worst nightmares of veganism being a thinly disguised PC eating disorder. Qesadilla - means "little cheesy thing" so trying to make a fat-free vegan version defeats the point! the best vegan cuisine I know - sees veganism as a proliferation of possibilities - of plenitutde and excess - not scary industrial replacements for scary industrial food... veganism = olive oil, avocados, tahini, black sesame & coconut cream - good old herbal fats that don't hurt cows or pigs or ducks.......
hugs from elvis
daresay i haven't looked much at the site, friend sent it to me and i just it used once for a quick pasta salad...
im with you on the 'olive oil, avocados, tahini, black sesame & coconut cream' :) these are the things that make joyous veganism possible!
hopefully the books are a bit better!
May I heartily recommend this double-chocolate vegan brownie recipe, originating with Post Punk Kitchen! I made a batch for the Femmes Of Power book launch yesterday and it was totally ace- chewy, rich, and not remotely tofu-flavoured.
Come to think of it, I may make another batch today to tide the household through Mardi Gras weekend.
The recipe is here: http://www.grouprecipes.com/50504/vegan-double-chocolate-brownie.html
you may certainly recommend it! thankyou ever so much... xx
Mmm - I lerve tofu - silken tofu with random sweetener and cocoa powder makes the best chocolate cream icing ever..... (apart from melting lindt squares with honey and double cream)
big hugs and happy post-(not where we are) mardis-gras weekend
belatedly...
i have a vegetarian blog just starting (but always with vegan option). i kno it's all naughty and dairy/eggified but there will definitely be some good vegan recipes up there:
