BathHouse Belles And Blues

What the %^$* have they done to our Korean Ginseng Bathhouse??? From the SMH, Nicole Low and Julia Carlisle, March 3, 2008:

'Korean saunas had originally been public baths, but with the onset of widespread plumbing, bathing at home became more common and their popularity declined. To ensure its survival, bathhouses were transformed into resorts. But late last year Sydney's bathhouse devotees - said to be more than five million - were in shock when they heard their one was closing. None of the smart, expensive, la-de-da spa treatments that have become the latest craze could ever replace it.But like most of Kings Cross and the old Crest Hotel, the batthouse has been given as the new management, Body Inc, describes it a "little TLC".Now part of the new Chifley Potts Point Hotel, the Body Inc Bathhouse - as it's to be known - is to open in April and will maintain an Asian theme. And in what no doubt will be a relief to many and a disappointment to others, there's no need to leave your inhibitions and your clothes at the door.'

However...

'Votana says the revamped bathhouse will be low tech and will not be "glitz and glamour". And naturalists need not despair. They will still be catered for, with the possible introduction of co-ed naked baths.'

Hmm. Me not quite sure I trust this. Nice to know it has re-opened though, all the same.
